ace the customer
service interview
my interview book |
Many
customer service interviews begin with a phone interview. That makes
sense since you will probably manage a lot of telephone calls and
the interviewer wants to assess how you handle yourself over the
phone.
Step
One: When you are applying for a customer service position, you
may be required to take an intelligence test and skills assessment.
The intelligence test relies on evaluating verbal, mathematical,
spatial, analytical skills. Your customer service interview can
focus on all four of those categories or only some of them. |
Step
Two: When you pass the assessments, you will either be invited
for another phone interview or an in person interview. Either way,
when you get to this phase of the interview process that means that
you surpassed the majority of the other candidates.
Step
Three: After have passed the initial interviews, then you can
expect to interview with a manager or supervisor. Since a customer
service representative is an entry-level position, the offer you
receive will most likely be nonnegotiable.
In
either the phone interviews or in-person interviews, the interviewer
provides customer service scenarios for you to answer.
As
part of the job offer, you will have to submit to a drug test and a
background check. These are routine for most positions.
To
make it to a customer service interview, you need a resume that
piques an employers interest. Send along your existing resume or let
